About the Education Connection Video Contest
Get creative!
This is your chance to shine. Show us why you deserve free tuition. Tell people what you plan to study and why. Shoot a documentary about why a college degree is important. Do a funny take on our Education Connection jingles. Or come up with your own idea about education. Just do it in a way that will make people laugh, cry, think and share! And keep it to one minute or less.
Be original or mash it up.
We’ve already created a few jingles about Education Connection. You can use our songs but change the words. Use our words but with a new tune. Use our images with a different audio track. Or come up with something new and different. Just don’t use anything copyrighted! That means you can’t mash up stuff from recording artists, TV or movies.
Play to the judges – and your friends.
Spread the word.
To get your video into the top 15, you’ll definitely need to tell people about it. Use text, Twitter, Facebook, IM, MySpace, email, snail mail, or stand on the street corner with a megaphone. Do whatever it takes to get friends, family and strangers to vote!
Our Judges Will Look at Every Video!
To make sure that everyone has a chance of winning, during the first round our judges will also pick five videos to go on to the second round of judging. So even if you get your video in at the last minute, you still have a chance.
Follow the rules.
The contest officially starts on June 22, 2009 and ends on August 9, 2009. You can only upload one video for the contest. People can only vote once per day – but they can vote once every day. The sooner your video is done, the more days people have to vote! It’s a good idea to read the all the rules before you start. You wouldn’t want to be disqualified after working really hard to win.
Keep up on all the action.
We’ll be tracking and talking about the contest all day, every day. Talk to us on Twitter, join our Facebook group, weigh in on MySpace, and subscribe to our blog. We want to hear your comments. Most of all, we want this to be fun!
